Viola Adunca

This North American native viola was first documented by the Lewis and Clarke expedition, on their travel through the western states. This beaded piece has one large dark purple viola flower with tiny beaded white hairs marking the center of the flower, and two buds on each side of the main flower seemly ready to open. The piece is set in rock and sand from Ruby Lake, Montana, near the area where the actual viola is found. This piece measures 5 1/4 inches tall.
